- Mauricio Pochettino's men have emerged as the Foxes' closest rivals this season and trail them by five points with just four games of the Premier League season remaining
Ledley King is optimistic that Tottenham can catch Leicester City in the Premier League title race, with four games of the season remaining.
Spurs currently sit in second place as the run-in approaches, five points behind the Foxes, and time appears to be against Mauricio Pochettino's men as they attempt to win their first ever title of the modern era.
However, Spurs have cut the gap to Leicester from 10 points to five in recent weeks and King is hopeful that they can make up even more ground this weekend, with Claudio Ranieri's side facing Swansea and Spurs then hosting West Brom.
"Just before the Manchester United game (on April 10) the gap was at 10 points and now it's down to five," King told Goal in an exclusive interview.
"So that just shows you what can happen in a couple of games. So I'm hoping we can chip away again this weekend."
Spurs have undergone an amazing transformation under Pochettino's management, having finished fifth in the Premier League last season.
The north London club accrued 64 points from 38 games in 2014-15 and have already passed that tally this term - they currently have 68 - while their goal difference of 39 is a massive improvement on last season's five.
King, though, has warned the players that they cannot afford to stand still as they continue to develop.
"It's been an unbelievable season so far and I think the team has probably exceeded expectations in the way they've performed, and how well they've come on from last season," he added.
"So for the team to win the Premier League would be unbelievable but it's still important to remember how far the team has come from just one year ago, and the most important thing is to just maintain that going forward."
Ledley King spoke to Goal Australia in the lead up to the International Champions Cup Australia, presented by Audi.
