Jamie Vardy has enjoyed a phenomenal season - he is on the brink of winning the Premier League title with Leicester and could appear for England at the European Championship - but he was understandably disgusted on Sunday evening.
Vardy’s fiancée, Rebecca Nicholson, tweeted a photo of the couple’s daughter wearing a Leicester shirt but some vile Twitter trolls aimed abuse at the one-year-old.
The 29-year-old striker tweeted some of the sickening responses, along with the message: “shocking and vile”.
We can only hope that the police take action against these Twitter users, who claimed to be Manchester United fans.
Miss Nicholson responded to one of them, saying: “There are no words for people like you! You need locking up.”
According to the Mirror, who have contact Leicestershire Police about the incident, the accounts are no longer active.
