‘Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a supreme athlete and would be brilliant for Chelsea!’ – Andy Gray

  • Reports in France claim the Blues have tabled a two-year contract worth around £10million per season in a bid to tempt the Swedish superstar to the Premier League, while Manchester United have been linked with making a rival bid.

Ibrahimovic is widely expected to leave PSG when his contract expires at the end of the season.
But while many reports claim he could look to seal a big-money switch to the MLS or China as he approaches the twilight of career, his goal tally this season proves he still has much to offer at the top level.
Zlatan has hit 37 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions for club and country this season, with his massive tally helping PSG to the Ligue 1 title in record time.

And Gray, who follows Qatari-owned PSG closely on his punditry duties, believes Ibrahimovic could still make a big impact in English football despite his age.
“I’d love to see him in the Premier League,” the Everton legend told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
“And forget his age! He’s a superb athlete who has looked after his body. At 34 years of age he is supremely fit.
“I see a lot of him over here, we cover the French league and the Qatar links with Paris Saint-Germain.
“The Premier League is the sort of challenge he’d like. London is a brilliant city, Ibrahimovic hasn’t lived there, hasn’t played there, and it’s one of the great capital cities of the world to play your football.
“I think it would be something that would excite him if he was to leave PSG. But, having watched the way he’s been playing this year, maybe Paris Saint-Germain might just decide they want to offer him a deal to stay.
“You know Ibra, if he’s decided he wants to go he’ll go. He’s had four years in Paris, he’s won four titles and they could win the Champions League this year.
“If he does all that, why wouldn’t you leave and just try something else? And London, with Chelsea, might be a good place to stop off.
