Ranieri not interested in revenge over Chelsea

Ranieri not interested in revenge over Chelsea

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri rubbished claims he wants revenge over Chelsea as his team's fairy tale Premier League season continues.

Ranieri responded to comments made by former Chelsea captain Marcel Desailly, who said the Italian boss was driven by his sacking at Stamford Bridge in 2004, with Leicester five points clear atop the table and nearing a remarkable Premier League title.

The 64-year-old was forced to make way for Jose Mourinho, despite finishing second to the Arsenal 'Invincibles'.

However, Ranieri insisted he has nothing to prove to Chelsea as Leicester prepare to face Crystal Palace on Saturday.

"He is wrong," he told reporters in his press conference. "I want to win because I want to win, but not for revenge.

"I don't have revenge in my life. I am a very lucky man. I am doing the job that I want to do and not too many people can do this.

"It is not for revenge. Revenge is stupid. You can talk about revenge when you lose to one team and you want revenge, but not this kind of revenge."
